Shannon does a consistently great job with my haircuts and color. She gives me the extra attention needed with my naturally curly hair which can be quite challenging to work with. She also does a wonderful job customizing the color for my increasingly silver head so that it looks very natural. I love the variety of products Salon Ultimo uses and offers for sale for curly and colored hair too. The products help keep my hair looking soft, healthy and fresh.
Sam loves doing manicures and pedicures and it shows. She is a very sweet and fun to have a conversation with. She listens carefully to my personal concerns with my nails and addresses each one with expert suggestions and advice for products to use at home. I received haircuts and styles from various locations around Woodbury over several years. I was always satisfied with my haircuts but eventually moved to a different salon after some time. I was always waiting for that "wow" factor. I made my first appointment with Salon Ultimo this winter. I was told Annie would be my stylist. Not knowing anything about the stylist or the salon, I was excited to be a new customer.
From the first moment I walked in, I was welcomed with kindness from the receptionist. I was offered something to drink while I waited. Annie greeted me in a friendly manner and led me to her station. We chatted about what I wanted to do with my hair color. I wanted to go lighter with a full foil. She was the only hair stylist I've had that has given me exactly what I wanted. She styled my hair in a fun and easy way and she offered me her knowledge in several styling products.
I am so glad that I found Annie. I have never had as many compliments on my hair as I have after I went to her. Annie is great and I am so excited to go back again. When I left I was given gifts and coupons as a first-timer. That was the first time I have ever received gifts from a business because it was my first time there. Dennis and I have been clients of Salon Ultimo since the late 1990’s. We typically use hair care, manicures, pedicures, and esthetician’s services. Salon Ultimo has been the best salon we have ever patronized. The current ownership, as well as the previous, has always done everything they can to accommodate our needs. The quality of the staff is excellent and the turnover rate is extremely low. As a result, we’ve been able to depend on consistently high levels of service with the same personnel more then we have experienced anywhere else and that is very important to us.
Two examples of excellent service:
1. We had previously patronized a salon in the Cathedral area for seven years. Because it was difficult from me to get there during heavy traffic, I switched to Salon ultimo in the late 1990’s. Dennis did not want to switch at that time. In 1998, Dennis’s father passed away. Our previous salon was not willing to accommodate an emergency appointment for Dennis prior to the funeral, even for a long term client. So I contacted Salon Ultimo and the immediately put Dennis on a list for the next cancellation. Within three hours, he had an appointment for that same day, even though he was not a current client. That is true service. Dennis transferred his appointments to Salon Ultimo shortly thereafter. And you have never disappointed us with your services.
2. I was at Salon Ultimo during an appointment when Dennis cut his hand severely at home. He managed to drive to urgent care directly across from Salon Ultimo. The urgent care service redirected him to Regions Hospital, but would not allow him to drive any further. Chris (co- owner) volunteered to drive Dennis to Regions in his vehicle while Shannon (co-owner) drove behind in Dennis’s truck so he would have transportation once his hand was treated in the ER. That is beyond true service. That is caring about your clientele as if they were family.
The primary service providers we see are Jacquelyn Cameron and Melissa Swanson. They are both gems! They make an effort, no to only accommodate our requests, but to ensure that we’re satisfied with every aspect of their service. They’re wonderful people and have become friends as well. And best of all, that’s typical of all the staff at Salon Ultimo.
Thanks for being such a well run business and excellent provider of services. We are both very appreciative of Salon Ultimo and everything you do for your clients.

Connie does an unbelievable job at coloring and foiling. No one knows that I’m almost 90% white under there because it looks so natural. Kelly is a true artist with color and when I am at the shampoo bowl the extra moments of massage make a difference. Jennifer has been my stylist and she is excellent. Any changes I've made with hair color or length I've always been incredibly pleased walking out of the salon...which is definitely not always the case with other salons. And I love the scalp massage while getting my hair washed - that's always an added bonus!
Other than Jennifer, the other standout employee that I've had experiences with is Ann, Sales and Service Coordinator at the front desk. She is always smiling, happy, helpful, and incredibly professional - which is exactly the first impression needed at a salon.
Oh, and speaking of helpful - I love the online appointment system. It's so easy to use. I make all of my appointments online and it has worked out perfectly. The email reminders of appointments are great too.

I have been a satisfied client for over 20 years now. Actually, I think it may be longer than that as I have lost count. It's a family affair for our family. My daughter and son were clients over the years when they were growing up and lived at home and my husband is also a faithful client. I truly look forward to my regular visits to the salon and never get tired of going. It is such a charming place and always beautifully decorated for each season throughout the year. They supply the client's needs with top of the line beauty products and offer many other services a woman or man loves; such as various types of facials, skin care, massage, pedicure and manicures, etc. My husband and I are longtime clients of Master Stylist, Jane Wallgren, and she takes wonderful care of both of us. Especially me, as I usually need a lift when I arrive and she makes me feel great. Every time I leave the Salon, I always get compliments on how nice my hair looks and that the color is beautiful. Makes me feel great! She is very knowledgeable in the business and I can always trust her suggestions and ideas. I love it when we try something new and different as she is just as excited as I am to give it a try. She has such a great personality, and as I said before, I truly look forward to my visits with Jane. We catch up on what our families have been up to, our vacations, our friends and just good old girl talk. I don't know what I would do if she ever retires. I would highly recommend Salon Ultimo and also Jane Wallgren to anyone who needs any type of hair or beauty service. Don't forget to ask for a Salon Ultimo gift certificate for any special occasion.
